It is quite easy and offers great panoramas of the bay, Fisherman’s Wharf, Cannery Row and Lovers Point. It is best during the week. My favorite is 17 Mile Drive. It is very scenic, safe and moderately easy. Asilomar, Spanish Bay, the Lone Cypress and the Lodge at Pebble Beach are part of this ride. There is no charge to enter the gates. Carmel Valley Road offers a wide trail and is very pleasant. Fort Ord offers hard core mountain riding for the adventurous and more moderate but hilly trails, all in a wide open setting free of cars. There is also a bike path leading to Marina and Castroville that parallels Highway 1. Take your pick!
